National Libraries Day is the day for everyone who loves libraries to celebrate them! 2012 was a busy, exciting year for Devon Libraries with the opening of the £2.8M Passmore Edwards Centre in Newton Abbot, the launch of our free ebooks service and over 8000 young readers taking up the Summer Reading Challenge. 2013 promises to be another excellent year with a new library opening in Totnes, the refurbishment of Sidmouth library, Work Clubs and Free Fridays to help jobseekers and loads of book events including World Book Day.Read: National Libraries Day at Okehampton

On Thursday 7th June at 2pm, Okehampton Library will be launching ‘Moor Memories’ a chance to listen to memories from the Dartmoor National Park oral history project that recorded stories of everyday life on the moor during the 20th Century.Read: Okehampton Library: Moor Memories
Throughout the whole half term week, June 2012, children and their parents and carers can join in a ‘hunt’ around the library to find some of the Queen’s favourite things – all correct entries will be put into the Queen’s handbag and there will be prizes for two lucky winners.
