Lakeway United Church

North Street, North Tawton, Devon EX20 2DQ

Lakeway United Church in North Tawton was a united congregation between North Tawton Methodist Church and North Tawton United Reformed Church.

Formed upon the closure of the Methodist Chapel, Barton Street, North Tawton, due to falling numbers.

The Methodist Chapel building is now known as North Tawton Youth and Community Centre (information available on the amenities page).

In 2011, a Joint Community Facility public meeting concerning the future of the Lakeway United Church building proposed the provision of a Day Centre for the Elderly.

The Lakeway United Church building was originally North Tawton Congregational Church, which had a long history in the town.

Lakeway United Church closed July 2021.

Sampford Courtenay Methodist Church

Closure Service was held on March 9, 2014, by North Tawton Methodist Church Revd Philip Wagstaff (former West Devon Methodist Circuit Minister).
