Santa Braves the Snow

Throughout December, Santa was aboard his sleigh accompanied by Okehampton Round Table bringing a little Christmas cheer and raising money for local causes. This year was particularly challenging with the extreme weather conditions they faced, however, they persevered with great success.

The illuminated sleigh passed through the streets of North Tawton with festive music playing on Sunday 19 December, stopping for Santa to wave at  the children.  Okehampton Round Table, who was accompanied by representatives of North Tawton Girl Guides, would like to praise the warming reception and generosity of the local residents who donated a fantastic £453.50 – the most raised in a single collection.

Chairman of Okehampton Round Table, Louis Enderson, said “It was fantastic to see the delight on the faces of so many children who had the opportunity to meet Santa at their own front door. The weather conditions meant we could not make it to every house this year but I was thrilled with the overall success.”

Okehampton Round Table members work together to raise funds for local causes throughout the year. This annual event raised over £2500 which will be allocated to various worthy local groups and organisations.
