Regardless of trade or profession, full-time or part-time, on-call firefighters demonstrate dedicated commitment to the community, empowered by highly trained team-work.
As an on-call firefighter, you will be providing a part-time service, responding to fire and emergency calls.
Challenging and rewarding community volunteer role engaging with wide-ranging incidents; fires, road traffic accidents, chemical spills, and talking to the local community about fire prevention.
When fully trained as an on-call firefighter, you may be called out two or three times a week for a period of one or two hours – during daytime and evening and weekends. Flexibility is a crucial requirement.

There are no formal qualifications for the role of an on-call firefighter. You must be aged 18 or over and able to respond from home or place of work within 5 minutes. Physically and medically fit with good eyesight and hearing. Prepared to adopt the dedicated commitment and discipline of being a Firefighter. Hold a full UK driving licence.
