North Tawton Baby and Toddler Group

Trip to North Tawton Fire Station to meet some of the Fire fighters and see the fire engine! Activity will be making fire helmets.

Well, our first session of the new academic year came on Friday 9th September and went better than any of us could have expected. As the doors opened at 9.15 we had a steady stream of old and new faces coming in and joining in the fun! In the hall there seemed to be a real ‘buzz,’ children enjoying themselves and adults finding the time to play with their children, and enjoy a cup of tea and a chat. In fact, we totalled up the number of children and by the end of the session we had met 26 children and many of them were new to the group. Wow!

The new toys in the baby area seemed to go down well alongside its new set up, ensuring it to be a quieter and safer area of the hall. The extended ride-on toy area was a big hit with all the children who thoroughly enjoyed taking it in turns to share the vehicles, whilst the new small world equipment; train sets, cars, kitchens and dolls houses, were constantly in use. The first activity was making caterpillars and almost every child who was able decided to join in to take home a new friend! All the children seemed to have a great time. And at the end of the session when it was tidy up time, everybody stayed to help put the toys on the stage whilst all the children danced alongside the bubble machine and then spent the end of the session singing. There really was a lovely atmosphere.

So if you have a couple of hours to spare on a Friday morning why don’t you give it a go? First session is free! It’s a great way for your child to be active and socialise and a great reason to get out of the house.

A couple of dates of your diaries;  Autumn Coffee Morning (with table tops available) on Saturday 5th November, 10.00am start, all welcome! Plus for our regular members on Friday 14th October our usual session will also include a trip to North Tawton Fire Station to meet some of the Fire fighters and see the fire engine! Activity will be making fire helmets.

Many thanks for all of your support.
