Everybody's Embroidery Event 2012 Cheriton BishopWest Country Embroiderers

For those that annually await the return of Everybody’s Embroidery Event to Cheriton Bishop Village Hall, the wait has been a little longer this year since it became necessary for the organiser’s to hold it a few weeks later than usual.

On Saturday 12 May, 2012, from 10am until 4pm, admission free, the members of Cheriton Bishop West Country Embroiderers Group welcome visitors to not only view needlecraft of the highest quality, but also to participate in a “Quiltathlon Raffle” by selecting and purchasing cotton fabric squares of their own choice which group members will then sew together to produce a quilt in front at their very eyes. The more squares that are purchased the bigger will be the quilt; and, as with the event, the proceeds go to charity.

A featured exhibit this year will be the “Sutton Hoo Embroidery” being shown for the first time, created by the renowned embroiderer Tracy Curtis, who will be there.

The exhibition includes; Masks, Devon Cream-work, Dorset Buttons, Stumpwork and Goldwork, among others, and members will be demonstrating their individual needlecrafts.

Maintaining the event’s reputation for providing excellent food, a delicious range of snacks, treats and lunches will be available. For further information, please call Nicky Westcott on 01837 82517 or Ursula Radford on 01837 840547.
