Dowland’s 3rd Country Fair and Dog Show looks promising with extra attractions and a full programme for the main ring.

New for this year: North Devon Gun Dog Display and a Dog Display Team which recently performed at Crufts – the world’s largest dog show.

Attractions at Dowland Country Fair and Dog Show 2012 include Rueben and Prince the Suffolk Punch Horses giving cart rides, as well as showing themselves off in the main ring. Various birds of prey, sheep-shearing shows, exotic animals, hound racing, ferret racing and lurcher racing.

The family dog show, terrier show, lurcher show and ferret show are each duly awarded prizes and rosettes.

Star the Duck

Meet Star the Duck and his proud owner, Barry. Star the Duck follows his owner everywhere and has raised thousands of pounds for charity, of which includes Children’s Hospice South West.

Dowland Country Fair and Dog Show is an affordable family fun event with something for everyone to enjoy and includes a military fly-past with six World War II aircraft formation.

On Sunday 17 June, 2012, at Furze Park Cross, nr Winkleigh. EX19 8PG.

Admission: Adults £3 – Children £1 (under 5’s free of charge).

The day will start with coursing; bookings from 9am for 10am start. The main show opens from 11am to 5pm.

There will be an all day barbecue, cream teas, home-made cakes, ice creams and licensed bar.

The Dowland Country Fair and Dog Show 2012 is supporting the Devon Air Ambulance Trust and, K9 Dog Rescue, English Springer Spaniel Welfare and The Greyhound Sanctuary.
