ANTS Goodnight Mister Tom

ANTS Goodnight Mister Tom production at North Tawton Town Hall from Wednesday 29 May to Saturday 1 June 2019.

The cast includes YANTS Young Actors of North Tawton Society drama group members.

Goodnight Mister Tom is a children’s historical novel by the English author Michelle Magorian, published in 1981.

In September 1939, as Britain stood on the brink of the Second World War, young children from British towns and cities were evacuated to the countryside to escape imminent German bombardment.

Goodnight Mister Tom follows sad young William Beech, who is evacuated to the tranquil English countryside and builds a remarkable and moving friendship with the semi-retired widower Tom Oakley.

Two broken people at different ends of the age scale prove that genuine love and friendship knows no barriers.
