National Libraries Day is the day for everyone who loves libraries to celebrate them! 2012 was a busy, exciting year for Devon Libraries with the opening of the £2.8M Passmore Edwards Centre in Newton Abbot, the launch of our free ebooks service and over 8000 young readers taking up the Summer Reading Challenge. 2013 promises to be another excellent year with a new library opening in Totnes, the refurbishment of Sidmouth library, Work Clubs and Free Fridays to help jobseekers and loads of book events including World Book Day.

Singing Workshop Deborah Miles Johnson

On Thursday 7th June at 2pm, Okehampton Library will be launching 'Moor Memories' a chance to listen to memories from the Dartmoor National Park oral history project that recorded stories of everyday life on the moor during the 20th Century.

Roger Berrie Morning Star School

Several years ago, Roger was simply led by God to the slums in Punjab, North West India, and started a refuge for impoverished children from the local Punjab slum area.

By the grace of God, Roger duly embarked on building a residential school.

In addition to education, by which the children have passed government examinations—food, shelter, clothing, medical care and rehabilitation is provided.
