The Friends of Okehampton LibraryThere is lots of festive fun planned at Devon County Council’s Library in Okehampton during the month of December 2011. The Friends of Okehampton Library are running a Family Quiz from 1 December – 7 January. Sheets are priced at just £1, and prizes include £5 and £10 book tokens. 
Dartmoor author Tania CrosseCatherine Cookson of Hound of the Baskerville CountryOkehampton library will play host to the Catherine Cookson of Hound of the Baskerville Country on Wednesday 12 October, 2011, as author Tania Crosse shares a cream tea with guests and presents her latest novel, The Wrong Side of Happiness. The author’s novels, which include; The River Girl, Cherrybrook Rose, and Hope at Holly Cottage, are all based on and around Dartmoor, and provide a vivid and evocative insight into local history. 
An Evening with Bestselling Author Veronica Henry at Okehampton LibraryNorth Devon Author Veronica Henry will be at the Library in Okehampton on Wednesday 27 July at 7.00pm. Enthusiasts are invited to hear about her latest novel, The Birthday Party. This book follows in the footsteps of Veronica’s bestseller from last summer, The Beach Hut. Veronica began her career as a secretary on the BBC 4 radio play ‘The Archers’ before turning her hand at scriptwriting for some of the most popular television dramas including Heartbeat and Holby City.
